Vasco city is witnessing a lot of digging activity along the Swatantra Path ostensibly to lay a new drainage system. Though developmental work is most welcome, it should not come at the cost of residents being subjected to misery.

The haphazard digging has resulted in water pipelines being damaged depriving residents of water supply. But the worst part is bursting of a sewage pipeline in the heart of the city next to Chase Chambers. Raw sewage is overflowing onto the pavement and the road along the Swatantra Path.

This is giving  a terrible stench and can spread diseases. The problem has not been attended to by the authorities for several days. The place has become a breeding site for mosquitos.

People are willing to bear the inconvenience like congestion of roads, no parking space, etc. while works are being carried out but will not compromise on their health.
