Curchorem sex scandal and safety of women

It is utterly disgraceful to hear about the alleged involvement of a Curchorem councillor’s son in a vile sex scandal. The fact that hundreds of locals had to gather at the police station, demanding justice, speaks volumes about the anger and frustration in our community.  The exploitation of innocent girls and women”taking advantage of them, recording their most vulnerable moments, and then mercilessly blackmailing and humiliating them on social media”is an unforgivable crime that shatters the very foundation of safety, freedom, and dignity that every woman deserves. The police must act swiftly and decisively, free from any political interference, to ensure justice is served and to send a strong message that such behaviour will not be tolerated. Women in our country are living in fear, and it is people like these”rich, powerful, and intoxicated by money and drugs”who continue to threaten their safety and freedom. To the girls and young women of Curchorem and beyond, I implore you to be cautious and wise. Do not fall into the traps set by such predators, as it can darken your future forever.
