A truck allegedly loaded with iron pellets in violation of a service order was intercepted by CISF personnel at the DPC Gate of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) on 26/02/2026 at 19:30 hrs, foiling an alleged attempt to transport the material out of the port premises using a forged weighment slip.

According to the complaint lodged by SI/Exe Baburao Bhimrao Gawhad, I/C CIW, CISF Unit MPA Goa, the accused persons ” Asif Babasaheb Dambal, a resident of Belgaum, Karnataka and driver of the truck, and Suresh Lad, a resident of Xeldem, Tillamol, Quepem and owner of the truck ” along with unknown associates, allegedly forged a weighment slip and presented it as genuine before CISF officials.

The forged document reportedly indicated that the vehicle was carrying steam coal. However, upon verification, it was found that instead of loading coal at M/s Adani Mormugao Pvt Ltd as per the service order, the truck had loaded iron pellets from M/s Delta Pvt Ltd, which did not tally with the authorised consignment details.

Police said the accused, acting with common intention, attempted to transport the iron pellets out of the MPA premises. The vehicle was intercepted by on-duty CISF security personnel at the DPC Gate before it could exit the port area.

Mormugao Police have registered an offence under Sections 336(2) and 62 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The truck along with the iron pellets has been seized as part of the investigation.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station under the supervision of PI Sherif Jacques and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
