MARGAO
A driver of a BMW car and the organisers of an event have been booked after the car dashed against a police vehicle while performing a stunt at the SGPDA ground, Margao, late on Sunday night.
The police have registered an offence against the BMW car driver after his car dashed against the police vehicle and for fleeing from the spot after the accident.
The police have also charged the event organiser for neglecting to install necessary barricades around the venue, directly compromising the personal safety of the attendees present. The Fatorda police also said the organisers violated the order issued by the Dy Collector, Salcete.
The incident occurred on Sunday at around 22.30 hours at the SGPDA ground opposite INOX Theatre, Margao. The police said the accused driver drove his white-coloured BMW car in a rash and negligent manner, performing dangerous stunts, drifting the car in a public place and thereafter dashing it into the police van present at the spot before fleeing.
The police are investigating.
