In a boost to Goa Medical College and Hospital, dozens of faculty positions of tutor/demonstrator and specialists for its various departments have been publicised for recruitment by the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC).
The Commission has asked candidates to apply online. Positions have also been advertised for a dietician in the Directorate of Health Services and one Insurance Medical Officer (ESI Scheme).
The positions to be filled in the GMC come at a crucial time as the State government has forwarded a proposal to add fifty MBBS seats to the existing 200 in the upcoming academic year, and it is under consideration of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had announced the proposal during his budget speech in the Goa legislative assembly earlier this month.
