Goa CM assures no shortage of domestic LPG amid public panic

PANAJI:

Amid public panic and long queues outside gas agencies, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday assured that there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in the State, though the supply of commercial LPG has been affected.

Responding to concerns raised by the Opposition over panic buying and crowding at LPG distribution centres, Sawant said the situation is being closely monitored, and the issue of commercial LPG supply is being addressed by the Union Ministry.

“There is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders, and people need not panic. The problem is mainly with commercial LPG supply,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that the State government is coordinating with the Union Ministry to stabilise the situation and ensure regular supply.

Sawant also said the government is exploring solutions to support students residing in hostels who may be affected due to the disruption in commercial LPG supply.
