Former RGP leader Aditya Dessai, who has been accused by Manoj Parab with fomenting the internal trouble, has claimed that the recent developments began after the successful 39A agitation.

He alleged that in the absence of St Andre MLA, Viresh Borkar, the RGP's central executive committee (CEC) had decided to shut down the party.

He also alleged that "outside forces" and possibly businessmen or politicians supporting 39A, could be behind the ongoing turmoil.

Desai was the RGP candidate in Curchorem at the 2022 assembly elections and had polled a decent 2,500-plus votes. He had however disassociated himself from the party later.

He is an IT professional and has been accused by Parab of targeting leaders with social media posts from fake handles.
