The State has allocated Rs 1,100 crore budget for the Police Department including Rs 1,044 crore for revenue expenditure and Rs 56 crore for capital expenditure.

The CM hailed the department for maintaining control over crime and law and order in the State, noting that the police achieved a detection rate of 87.72 percent. “Efforts will be made to further strengthen the department by improving sanctioned manpower, upgrading infrastructure and facilities, providing advanced training, strengthening the Cyber Crime Unit and improving response time. The Police Training School at Valpoi will be upgraded,” he added.

The government has also launched the ‘Quick Pass’ app for a hassle-free traffic permission system for motorists and a digital tool called ‘Deep Trace’ to identify and profile cyber and financial fraud.

He also said the government is committed to establishing a state-of-the-art Forensic Science Laboratory equipped with digital technology and artificial intelligence to assist enforcement agencies in delivering faster and more reliable justice.
