Agencies told to track suspicious transactions for Ponda bypoll

MARGAO South Goa district Electoral Officer Egna Cleetus has issued instructions to enforcement agencies to closely monitor and report any suspicious or illegal transactions to ensure the smooth conduct of the by-election to the 21 Ponda Assembly Constituency, scheduled for April 9. In this respect, the District Electoral Officer convened a meeting of the Election Expenditure Monitoring Team along with representatives of various enforcement agencies. Officers from the Income Tax Department, DySP, SDPO-Ponda, Customs, Excise, Lead Bank, and Fire Officer were also present.
