At Nanus“Betkekarwada, a tree fell on the house of Vishwanath Gaonkar, causing an estimated loss of Rs 80,000. In another incident, a tree collapsed onto a four-wheeler belonging to Pavan Vinayak Velingkar in Valpoi, resulting in damage worth around Rs 50,000. Similarly, on the Valpoi“Masorde road, a tree fell on a bakery operating from the residence of Suresh Pokale, leading to further losses.
According to reports, a jackfruit tree near Vishwanath Gaonkar’s house suddenly collapsed on Sunday morning, severely damaging the structure. The roof bore the brunt of the impact, and several household belongings were also affected. The total loss is estimated at approximately Rs 80,000.
The Valpoi Fire Brigade responded swiftly after receiving the alert and removed the fallen tree. Their timely intervention helped save property worth nearly Rs1.5 lakh, preventing further damage, locals said.
In another incident, a tree fell on a car owned by Pavan Vinayak Velingkar, which was parked behind Shankar Chhaya Bar and Restaurant. The vehicle sustained major damage to its front and upper sections, with losses estimated at around Rs50,000.
Fire brigade personnel quickly reached the spot and managed to salvage property worth about Rs 2 lakh. Officials confirmed that a panchnama has been conducted and a report will be submitted to higher authorities.
A similar incident occurred on the Valpoi“Masorde road, where a tree collapsed onto a bakery run from the residence of Suresh Pokale. The impact damaged part of the roof as well as household items, with losses estimated at Rs 50,000.
The fire brigade promptly carried out rescue operations and succeeded in saving property worth approximately Rs1 lakh. Although the immediate damage has been assessed, officials indicated that the total loss could rise. The quick response helped avert a more serious situation.
