Vasco resident booked for theft of air quality monitoring instruments

Mormugao police have booked a Vasco resident in connection with the theft of air quality monitoring instruments worth Rs 1.29 lakh from the terrace of MPA quarters near Ravindra Bhavan at Baina.

According to police, the complaint was lodged by Shirishkumar Rane, senior chemist at Gadark Lab Pvt. Ltd. who stated that prior to May 15, the accused, identified as Pranesh Madar, of Mangoor Hill, Vasco, allegedly stole two air quality monitoring instruments belonging to Gadark Lab Pvt. Ltd.

The stolen equipment included one Respirable Dust Sampler (PM10) and one Fine Particulate Sampler (PM2.5), collectively valued at Rs 1,29,800.

Based on the complaint, Mormugao police registered an offence under Sections 303(2) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Suraj Naik of Mormugao Police Station under the supervision of PI Sheriff Jacques and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
