A Stop work order has been issued in the land filling matter reported by Margao Congress Block at Colmorod Margao.
Deputy collector Velton P Tellis has directed the SGPDA to take action in this matter and report compliance of action taken. The Police Inspector of Margao has been directed to ensure that no further land filling takes place; and in case filling does take place then the same should be stopped and reported to the Dy Collector and SDO-I for necessary action under section 223 of BNS.
The Margao Police Inspector is further directed to trace the offender serve copy of the notice and submit compliance. While appreciating the swift action by the flying squad and office of the deputy Collector, Congress Block Convener Savio Coutinho stated that the whole issue is getting even more murky with the fact that the Chalta No/PTS No. of the property being filled up does not reflect in the Margao City Plan. He said this has now raised a question as to who is filling up the land without any Survey Number or ownership records.
