Social media outburst by RGP chief triggers internal discord speculation

PANAJI: A fresh political stir has emerged within the Revolutionary Goans Party after a series of social media posts allegedly made by party president Manoj Parab today triggered renewed talk of internal differences within the organisation.

The posts, shared in rapid succession, reportedly over 20 updates within 2 hours, included strongly worded statements directed at multiple individuals and internal party matters.

In one of the posts, Parab writes, “Majyaa Aee’k radaylaa tumi… Ataa ho Tandav konut stop karpak paucho naa.” In another, he states, “Pouyaa kitle asaa te bhadyache boil.. I swear.. Sam Naik.. 5 cr khay ani kenaa Gheun yeu sang.. call or whatsapp me.. or comment here. Ditaa tuka sarke 5 cr..”

Several other posts name individuals directly. He writes, “Melvin Da Silva, Michael Queiroz, Trevor Athayde.. Hindu cristav jaay mare tumka.. rawaat matshe,” and “Manoj kide te dakaytaa tumkaa.. Party sidik dovoryaa.”

Another post reads, “JB Ferns Brian tujyaa familyche paishe khalaa re haven?? Sang kitle khalaa te.. Daglee tukaa apaa lipa khelpak jaay mare??”

Parab also refers to party leader Licio Roncon in a post, stating, “Licio Roncon.. Khup khello re amchyaa wangdaa.. Khup keli communal brainwashing.”

He further mentions internal changes, writing, “Prashant pagi, leadership change karyaa. Yo offisan begin.. ditaa tukaa sagle...” and adds, “Manoj Aggressive mare. Ataa dakaytaa aggression kide te.. khup radlo khup payaa padlo.”

Adding to the development, RGP Treasurer Ajay Kholkar stated that he has unfollowed St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar, Licio Roncon, and others on social media after they were seen with Julius Almeida, who was officially disassociated from the party last month following a detailed disciplinary action by the Core Executive Committee.

The party’s public notice last month stated that Almeida is not associated with the Revolutionary Goans Party in any capacity, citing alleged violations, including indiscipline, the circulation of misleading content, and remarks against the party leadership.

Kholkar also said the party has sought clarification from Borkar regarding the matter, adding to ongoing internal communication within the organisation.

However, Borkar had recently dismissed reports of any rift, stating that the party remains united and that he continues to work under the leadership of Manoj Parab. He had also rejected social media claims of internal distancing or confusion among leaders, calling them baseless and intended to create unnecessary controversy.
