Saligao p’yat building to be razed, new one to be built

Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has said the existing Saligao panchayat building will be demolished shortly, and a new two-storied build will be constructed in its place.

“The present panchayat office will be shifted to a nearby house. Similarly, the primary school building opposite the Saligao Panchayat will be demolished and in its place, a new building will be constructed,” said Naik.

He was speaking after launching the hotmixing of the Saligao-Parra road at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore, in the presence of Saligao Sarpanch Lucas Remedios, Dy Sarpanch Utkarsha Kudnekar, Geeta Deepak Rane, Dayanand Mandrekar and a group of locals.

The MLA said the hotmixing of the Saligao“Parra road was a long-pending issue and water had been accumulating on the road due to potholes, causing inconvenience to motorists and two-wheeler riders.

Saligao Sarpanch Lucas Remedios also spoke on the occasion.
