A female rider was injured when her scooter was knocked down by a rent-a-car at Marra“Pilerne on Monday morning.
Saligao police said the incident took place as rent-a-car, driven by Shivam Singh from Uttar Pradesh, was proceeding from Candolim to Panaji.
When he reached at Marra, the car knocked down the scooter, causing injuries to Maria Dias.
Police said the car driver did not stop and went ahead, before ramming into an electricity pole which fell on the road.
The injured rider has been admitted to Goa Medical College hospital at Bambolim for treatment, while Singh was sent to the GMC hospital for a medical test.
A case has been registered against the car driver and Saligao police is investigating the case.
