Police constable suspended over alleged misconduct at Maina-Curtorim station

The Goa Police have suspended a police constable attached to the Maina-Curtorim Police Station for allegedly misbehaving with members of the public.

Sources said the constable failed to follow the prescribed procedure when two parties approached the police station to resolve a dispute.

A senior police officer said the constable is believed to have kept four persons at the police station until late at night.

Police are also investigating allegations that the four persons were assaulted by the constable at the station.

"We have decided to initiate action against the police constable after learning that he had misbehaved with members of the public. The matter is under investigation," the senior officer said.
