The port town ushered in Holi celebrations on Tuesday morning with traditional prayers at the Shri Damodar Temple.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, who is also the President of the Murgao Nagrik Shigmotsav Samiti (MNSS), along with committee members, offered prayers at the temple before the celebrations began in full swing. A truck fitted with a music system and accompanied by a live band moved through the city. Revellers joined the procession dancing to popular songs and celebrating the festival with religious fervour. Drenched in vibrant hues, groups of youngsters were seen riding bikes and open jeeps across the city, while several families chose to spend the day by the seaside at Hollant, Bogmalo and Baina beaches, all of which witnessed a heavy rush.
