Mapusa man found dead at home

A 49-year-old man from Mapusa was found dead at his residence on Sunday morning, with police registering a case of unnatural death.

According to Mapusa Police, the deceased has been identified as Vasudev Narvekar, a resident of Khorlim, Mapusa.

He was rushed to the North District Hospital, Mapusa, after family members found him unresponsive while attempting to wake him up at home.

Hospital authorities declared him brought dead.

Preliminary inquiries with relatives and friends revealed that Narvekar had a medical history related to haemoglobin issues and was reportedly on blood-thinning medication.

Police said no foul play is suspected at this stage. The body has been sent for further medico-legal formalities to ascertain the exact cause of death.

A case of unnatural death has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
