Man dies after scooter hits speed breaker in Mapusa

MAPUSA

A 26-year-old man from Kerala died in a self-accident late Tuesday night near Duler in Mapusa, opposite Vision Hospital. The deceased, identified as Prajwal Karmalkar, was reportedly riding a scooter when he lost control after hitting a speed breaker, according to the initial police report.

The impact is believed to have thrown him off the vehicle, causing severe injuries.

Locals who witnessed the incident immediately alerted the 108 emergency ambulance service. He was rushed to the North Goa District Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Mapusa Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident. Police are also examining factors such as road conditions and whether the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
