The Konkan Railway Corporation conducted its annual pre-monsoon inspection along the Konkan railway route to ensure smooth and uninterrupted train operations during the monsoon season.

The inspection was led by Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director of KRCL, along with directors and senior officials from various departments. The team reviewed vulnerable locations, ongoing maintenance work and safety arrangements to ensure safe and reliable train operations during the monsoon months.

The Madgaon (MAO) to Thokur (TOK) section was inspected on 10 March 2026, followed by the Madgaon (MAO) to Roha (ROH) section on 11 March 2026.

During the inspection, officials reviewed railway tracks, bridges, tunnels, cuttings, slopes, signalling systems, waterlogging-prone areas, station infrastructure and solar lighting installations along the route.

The inspection also allowed officials to assess preventive measures being taken to maintain safe railway operations during the rainy season. Such annual inspections are an important part of Konkan Railway’s efforts to strengthen safety and ensure full preparedness for the monsoon, especially as the railway line passes through difficult terrain and areas that receive heavy rainfall.
