Authorities have removed a shed illegally constructed on forest department land at Ansole-Bhironda. According to sources, an individual had encroached upon forest department land at Ansole and had constructed a shed there. It was alleged that efforts were being made to start a business from the shed. Local residents, however, raised objections, stating that the construction was an encroachment on government land.

Following complaints from residents, authorities conducted a survey of the land and prepared a report. Based on the findings, instructions were issued to remove the structure. The administration had earlier directed the person concerned to dismantle the shed. As there was no response, the Sattari Taluka Mamlatdar’s office, along with the concerned authorities, carried out the action and removed the shed.

A few months ago, local residents had complained that an individual had illegally set up a prayer place and was attempting to convert people of other faiths. At that time too, the Mamlatdar’s office had intervened and removed the unauthorised prayer structure.

Residents have claimed that encroachments on government land appear to be increasing in Sattari taluka, and have appealed to the administration to take strict action against illegal constructions in other areas as well.
