According to a press note, GOACAN had earlier submitted a letter dated March 5, 2024, to the then Deputy Director of Tourism, highlighting that the closure of the information counter was causing hardship to tourists visiting the KTC Bus Stand, as they were unable to receive assistance or information.
The association noted that even after two years, the issue remains unresolved.
GOACAN further expressed hope that the current Director of Tourism, Kedar Naik, will take cognisance of the matter and initiate steps to reopen the information counter at the earliest.
The association also urged the department to ensure that tourists visiting the KTC Bus Stand in Panaji receive a “consumer-friendly welcome” during the 2026“27 tourism season.
