The newly constructed Zonal Agriculture Office (ZAO) building at Valpoi in Sattari has been completed and will be inaugurated on Friday at 11 am. Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Pramod Sawant will inaugurate the facility in the presence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane.
The new office is expected to improve agricultural services and administrative support for farmers in Sattari, a predominantly agriculture-based taluka where many residents depend on farming and plantation activities.
Farmers had long demanded a modern office due to limited space and inadequate infrastructure at the old agriculture office. The project was approved by the agriculture department following efforts by local MLA and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Construction began nearly four years ago and faced initial delays before being completed. The building includes modern facilities such as a fully equipped hall for farmer guidance sessions, seminars, workshops, training programmes, exhibitions and awareness activities. Sattari ZAO Vishwanath Gawas said the new facility would help provide better services to farmers. Vishwajit Rane said the project aims to benefit both farmers and the general public while promoting modern farming practices.
