Bihar native electrocuted at Vasco Navy construction site

A 33-year-old labourer from Bihar died after allegedly suffering an electric shock while working at a site under construction near IOC Junction in Vasco on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Sola Kumar Ram, a native of Shumbha in Bihar.

According to Vasco police, the deceased was working at an under-construction Indian Navy site located behind Vasco Police Station when he allegedly came in contact with an electric source at the work site.

He reportedly collapsed after the shock and was immediately shifted to Chicalim Sub District Hospital (SDH), where doctors declared him brought dead.

Vasco police later conducted the inquest panchanama and the body was sent to the South District Hospital, Margao for medico-legal formalities.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Akanksh Fadte Dessai of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
