34-yr-old rider dies in road mishap at Socorro

A 34-year-old rider from Gaurawaddo-Calangute died in a road mishap at Socorro on Wednesday.

The incident took place at about 5.30 am, when John Paul Fernandes lost control of the motorcycle near the Vailankani Chapel in Socorro, and the two-wheeler rammed into a roadside tree.

Fernandes sustained serious injuries in the mishap and was moved to the GMC hospital at Bambolim, where he died in the evening while undergoing treatment.

Porvorim PSI Akash Chodankar is investigating the case.
