The Cuncolim police has registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in connection with the Surjeet Singh missing case at the mouth of river Sal at Betul in December last year.

The Cuncolim police have registered the FIR against three persons, who had reportedly called the victim Surjeet Singh at the mouth of river Sal on December 7, 2025.

The victim’s father Nawab Singh, a native of Uttar Pradesh had stated in his complaint that the three accused persons, two from Delhi and one from Uttar Pradesh called his son at the mouth of river Sal and provided him drinks on the pretext of enjoyment and got him intoxicated.

The complainant further stated that the trio lured his son into the sea water, knowing that such act was likely to cause his death.

Since that incident on December 7, the victim has been missing and untraceable, despite continuous search efforts. Hence, the circumstances of the case have raised strong suspicion of commission of culpable homicide.

A case under section 105 of BNS read with section 3(5) of BNS is registered by the Cuncolim police. Further investigation is conducted by Cuncolim PI, Diogo Gracias.
