A fishing boat from Karwar capsised off the Betul coast on Monday while returning from deep-sea fishing.

All 22 crew members on board were rescued by nearby fishing vessels operating in the area.

Cutbona-based boat owner Savio D’Silva said the incident took place off the Betul coast after the vessel developed technical problems.

He said that as soon as the boat developed the snag, nearby fishing vessels rushed to the spot and rescued all the crew members.

He added that crew members from other fishing boats were later engaged in salvaging the fishing nets from the ill-fated vessel.
