The State government has granted a 3-month service extension to Agriculture director Sandeep Fol Desai, who was superannuating on March 31.
The move comes at a time when several such extensions granted by the government to top officials at superannuation have come under strict scrutiny of the Bombay High Court at Goa, some even earning adverse observations.
The extension to Fol Desai is for three months and overlooks a formal demand of the Department’s officers association not to grant such extensions since it seriously affects the promotional avenues of other officers.
